  • Research In Motion today announced that BlackBerry App World 2.0 is no longer in beta and is free for all BlackBerry customers to download and use. To start, developers will be able to offer applications for sale at the $0.99 and $1.99 price points. One of the key features of App World 2.0 is support for carrier and credit card billing. RIM is also making BlackBerry ID available as part of App World 2.0. BlackBerry ID lets users manage their BlackBerry account information more easily across multiple devices.   • Research In Motion today announced a fourth beta of Facebook 2.0 for the BlackBerry platform. This newest version of the software adds a number of features, foremost among them being better support for native applications such as BlackBerry Messenger. Using the latest beta, BlackBerry users will be able to share content found in Facebook with the native email, SMS, BBM, and Twitter apps and vice versa.

  • Research In Motion today announced that App World 2.1 is now a full release and available to all BlackBerry users for download. The new App World supports in-app payments, filtered search results, and better BlackBerry ID support.
