Samsung Galaxy Note Up For Pre-Order Online At AT&T
We've heard rumors regarding the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T and it looks like February 19 should be the day to circle in your calendar if you're waiting for this phone-tablet hybrid. However, as expected to happen, the Samsung Galaxy Note is now available for pre-order online at AT&T.
AT&T Asks FCC to Place Conditions of Dish's Network Plans
AT&T has requested that the Federal Communications Commission set a number of requirements in place before Dish Network can build out its planned LTE-Advanced 4G network. AT&T wants Dish beholden to similar requirements levied on LightSquared. It would be required to cover 100 million POPs within 33 months and reach 260 million POPs within 69 months. AT&T also noted that it has "concerns" over Dish's use of 700MHz spectrum (which AT&T is also using for LTE). Dish responded this week to AT&T's request, saying such conditions would thwart its plans.
AT&T & Dish fight over spectrum, but will either build a network?
Report after report points to AT&T marrying Dish Network after Ma Bell’s forced breakup with T-Mobile , but given the companies’ increasing belligerence, you wouldn’t think that was the case. AT&T is petitioning the Federal Communications Commission to impose network buildout conditions on Dish’s satellite spectrum –- requirements that would be passed onto AT&T if it acquired the satellite TV provider.

Motorola Atrix 2 Receives Maintenance and Security Update
Motorola has provided a system update for the Atrix 2, which is sold by AT&T. The software update, which must be downloaded via Wi-Fi, makes a number of adjustments to the Atrix 2. According to Motorola, the update improves the performance of the camera; adds the Google Music application; patches security holes; adds emergency alerts from government agencies; and improves the keyboard, device stability, and performance of the Webtop application. The update is free to download and install.
Google Wallet Appears in Android Market for AT&T Phones
Google Wallet has become visible to AT&T variants of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. The application was previously only available to the Sprint version of the Nexus S (though unofficial workarounds for other handsets were possible). The appearance of the application means that Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S owners will be able to download, install, and use the NFC-based Google Wallet mobile payment system to make purchases at select retailers in select cities around the U.S. Google Wallet is still officially unavailable to the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus.
Galaxy Nexus Allowing Google Wallet Installs with AT&T SIM
The state of the deployment of Google Wallet, along with the use of NFC on smartphones in general, is a total mess at the moment. Rather than making it easy for owners of compatible phones to use the software they'd like, as they'd like to, carriers and the financial institutions theyre in bed with are treating the arrival of mobile payments over NFC as something they must find a way to monetize at all costs, your wishes be damned.
AT&T connected Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S get Android Market Google Wallet installs
So far, Google Wallet has its official US availability on NFC-compatible handsets limited by unfriendly carriers with their own mobile payment services in mind , but it appears that is no longer the case for Nexus handsets with AT&T SIMs inserted. Droid-Life reported the app is available in the market for AT&T-SIM'd HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus phones, which we were able to confirm on our own device (over any connection, as long as the AT&T card is in, switching back to a T-Mobile SIM made it disappear from the market again, although of course the app still worked).
AT&T Galaxy Nexus Gets Semi-Official Google Wallet Support
The tale of Google Wallet’s life thus far is a bit of a weird one, but here’s the gist: Google launched it back in September, initially as an exclusive feature on Sprint’s Nexus S. We reviewed it here.
