Twitter Concept App for Windows Phone 7

Posted on 29 June 2010

While one of the whole points of Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 operating system is that it will be connected at all times to every aspect of your life, some people might prefer to keep certain aspects separate, and so Microsoft have released a Twitter concept app. There’s plenty of screenshots (below) and it’s a good way to see the way the OS interface is developing and how we might interact with it.One thing that struck me immediately for instance is just how many aspects to this program there are.  This compared to the Twitter app in my HTC Windows Mobile 6.5 phone, which has only 5 panes, makes the Windows Phone 7 program look positively bloated and hard to use.Nobody’s had a chance to play with this yet so we’ll have the leave the actual comment on usability for another time, but it’s certainly a very attractive and friendly piece of software to look at. thumbs 013 Twitter Concept App for Windows Phone 7 thumbs 022 Twitter Concept App for Windows Phone 7 thumbs 031 Twitter Concept App for Windows Phone 7

  • I remember one of the first things that I noticed about Windows 7 was the nice new boot animation. It was simple yet beautiful at the same time, in fact I even wrote an article on how it came to be. Then today as I was browsing the web, I came across this article from Zdnet, which showcases all the Windows boot animations.Right back to when dinosaurs still roamed the planet, Windows 1.01, and through the stone age with Windows 98, then into a new millennium with Windows ME and finally into the present with Windows 7. It proves to be an exciting journey.

  • First screenshots of the post-rtm build 7700 have been published by the Russian news site Wzor. The full build string of the client version is 7700.0.100122-1900 which indicates that it was compiled on January 22.A server version is also available with that build number. This build should not be confused with the builds for the first service pack of Windows 7 as this build will eventually lead to Windows 8 while the service pack builds will lead to the release of the Windows 7 Service Pack.

  • Microsoft has just released a new theme for all users of the Windows 7 operating system. The Lovebirds theme features five background images of birds, flowers and hearts. The pink wallpapers are definitely not for everyone but Microsoft would not have released the new theme if there was not a market for it, right?
The theme has been made available just in time for Valentine’s Day. The composition and colors suggest that Microsoft is majorly targeting female Windows 7 users with that theme. Take a look at the five images below.
